What does Ezekiel Prophesy about Israel?
In the “last days…”
1. The nation will be Reborn (Eze 37:1-11)
2. Israel will be Restored (Eze 36:33-36)
3. Israel will be Re-United (Eze 37:15-20)
4. Israel will be Re-Gathered (Eze 37:21-22)
5. Israel will be Invaded from the North (Eze 39:2)
Restored Israel will be Invaded by Gog and his army which will come down from the north….
“Gog” is a person and the “Chief Prince” of a group of nations.
“Magog” is an assembly of nations that will be led by Gog in the invasion of Israel in the last days.
Magog, Meshech and Tubal were sons of Japheth (check out the sons of Noah and the “table of nations” in Genesis 10) They are the ancestors of the people and nations of northern Europe… (including Russia)
Gog, and Magog, the chief prince of (Rosh), Meshech, and Tubal, will invade the restored land of Israel from the North, with a powerful army of many nations. (38:1-9)
Their intention will be to plunder Israel, which will be dwelling in security. (38:10-16)
But when Gog and his army (from the north) invade Israel, they will be destroyed by the wrath and judgment of God. Shock and awe time.
This is my understanding of this difficult prophecy, and it is still debated by many Bible scholars.
However, what God says, is what God does. It will happen.
